What makes a spinner special?
These cyclists want to enhance their biking excursions with other activities, such as a culinary and wine tour or walks and hikes. Or they cycle in ways that don't fit the square corners of our pre-designed Scheduled Tours or Self-Guided Tours, such as preferring dirt roads to asphalt.
CycleGreece has a "no spinner left behind" policy. We make it our business to cater to and try to satisfy different breeds of cyclists.

Bike & Hike
Where ever you bike in Greece there is inevitably excellent hiking in the vicinity too. Donkey trails abound and are still used in many places like Lesvos. Paths trod by villagers since Byzantine days, known as "kalderimi," have become popular ecotourism footpaths on Andros and Tinos islands. In Crete, along the southern coast of the Libyan Sea lies the European hiking route. Perhaps some of the best hiking lies in Zagoria north of Ioannina. All these regions likewise offer cycling activities, too.
Yoga & Pilates
Did you know that Pilates was founded by a Greek! Yes, Josef Pilate's grandfather emigrated to Germany from northern Greece. He was assuredly following his Greek roots, a tradition of mind, body, spirit wisdom embraced by ancient Greek healers like Hippocrates. We have extensive contacts in the yoga and Pilates community in local Greece and can combine your cycling vacation with yoga or Pilates sessions that are probably not that different to your daily practice at home.
Mountain Biking
Four fifths of Greek terrain is mountains, so naturally mountain bikers are attracted to Greece's rural roads. There are not so many technical single paths, but ample fire roads where you are in the thick of nature. You come upon hamlets with no access to paved roads. You occasionally stumble across unheralded ruins in remote areas. You constantly encounter fresh mountain spring water. Our team has biked all over Greece's countryside and we know the best routes to steer you to.
Culinary & Wine
Greece's best kept secret is its food and spirits. Healthy Mediterranean cooking dominated the Greek diet for centuries. The beauty of Greek cuisine lies in its simplicity and its reliance on fresh local foods. More and more chefs are including Greek recipes in their gourmet fare Wineries are flourishing these days from Thessaloniki to Nemea, from Lesvos to Santorini. We can arrange cooking classes and wine tastings with experts in their fields and top it off with invigorating cycling routes to burn off those indulgent calories.
Multi-Sports
Known primarily for its islands and beaches, Greece actually has a terrain of amazing diversity that make it the Ultimate Playground for the versatile outdoors man and woman. Cycling is one element in an itinerary that can encompass a stunning array of activities: rock climbing, canyoneering, rapelling in gorges, river rafting, sea kayaking, trekking and scuba diving, to name a few. Depending on the region you choose for your vacation, we can arrange to keep your endorphins popping for days.
Agro-Tourism
This new form of ecotourism is thriving in Greece, too. You can stay on farms in Crete and help with the olive harvest or take an herb walk. Pick grapes during Santorini's wine harvest in autumn and you'll see first hand how the vines grow in a circular wreath shape in the ashen volcanic soil. On the Cycladic island of Kea learn about bee keeping and making honey. In Chios live in medieval villages where the unique mastica resin is cultivated. These opportunities and more await you in Greece.
Bike Friday Greece
Cycling in Greece is an emotional experience to begin with, but imagine pedaling here with a bunch of your BF buddies. You will create a riot! Greeks will gape and giggle at your little bikes, but that's an opportunity to use your Friday for friendly exchanges with the locals. Tell us what you have in mind -- ancient ruins like Olympia?
